hey yall.

I got my whole rig stuck in a small pond/puddle, right up over the engine  /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> . Now she wont start. I have replaced plugs, wires, rotor, air filter, and have purged the fuel. Its still comming out with a little water. Im sure theres some water in the oil as well. I drove it home after and the dipstick was so hot I could not touch it, thats why I think theres water in the oil. Im gona change that next, as well as the fuel filter. Any other Ideas or stuff I need to change out, because I can not get it to run at all now. Its an 88 with a 351W.

Thanx

Well if its fuel injected and you had it over the motor in water then you definately had the computer under water . One of the first things the EEC does is power up the fuel pump when you turn the key on . Do you hear the pump when you turn the key on ? If not check all the fuses . If the computer got wet you can take it out and let it dry out someplace warm for awhile and maybe youll get lucky If not then you will have to find another computer for that combination you have 351W motor with whatever tranny you have C6,AOD,E4OD. Good luck :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Right after its pulled out of the water you should pull all the plugs and then turn the key to blow out the water from the engine. Then do a oil change. Never try to start the engine until you do these things first and you should be ok. Once started with water in it will cause problems.

my friend had same problem with his car, dodge intrepid. he drove it in salt water. it stalled out on him and had to push it to dry land and let it dry until it restarted. once it was started, it started knocking like ****. he changed the oil when he got home and it was fine. then the following day one of his cylinders seized up. he had another motor put in. so thats prolly what happen to yours.
