Howdy yall, I just picked up a 84 Ford Bronco for $500 an it runs with all the body work done and no rust!

I bought it so I could beat something else without having to hurt my jeep and my plans for this thing consists of:

Front Suspension:

6" coil springs

2-3" Dropped coil buckets

Y link setup for axles.

Front Axle:

HP Dana 44

4.88 Gears

Mini spooled

heavy duty diff covers

new calipers and rotors

extended brake lines

custom steering and maybe ram assist

Rear Axle:

Ford 9 Inch

4.88 Gears

Full Spooled

New Brakes

Rear Suspension:

4" Leaf Springs with correction shims

Flipped and taller shackles

trac bar to prevent axle wrap

And thats where my question comes to play. how much taller does a shackle flip make it? my bud was saying like 4 to 5 inches. is this true?

Nothing wrong with a Jeep, it'll go plenty of places a full-size just can't get to. Anyone who appreciates the EB's has to tip their hat to the Jeep's.

Nothing wrong with your plans, just understand up front that what you're talking about doing isn't typically the sort of work *anyone* invests into a cheap beater. If that's really what you'd like to do then great, but understand that when it's all said & done you're going to have a significant investment in time, $$$, and bull$hit into this truck. There's just no way to build it into what you describe *without* making that investment (unless you forget to mention Santa leaving you a WHOLE stack of Ford parts last December or that rich Uncle who just died thinking of you as his favorite nephew). Somewhere along the line you're probably going to have to make a decision. If a cheap woods truck is all you want then weld the spiders, hack the fenders until you can fit 38's and beat the thing to death. If you're looking for something more, well, that costs money :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

its sucks to see non rusty fenders cut up since they are so rare around here:)

Before you go crazy on the suspensions lift and everything you might want to consier removing the inner fenders and putting 36s in there. you dont have a problem with cutting and you would be suprised how far it will go with no lift. my bronco on stock lift and 30" tires got everywhere my friends 98 wrangler went with 6" suspensions an 33's.

im not sure what type of off roading you are going to get into but im sure you know whats best for your terrain, just wanted to throw that out there.

what motor and tranny are in that thing? and tcase?

Its got a 302 Carbed, with a few mods to the ignition system, the tranny I don't realy know yet but the clutch is something to be concerned about, the t-case is a NP205 not sure the ratio and it splits off to the dumb A independent front and the 8.8 rear with the limited slip which me and my bud re built before I bought it from him.

I still have the fenders if ya want them ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> some assembly required though. but yeah I'm relooking into the suspension and I think I might just stick with the 6" lift and the shackle flip in the rear with some leaf springs with adda leafs and try to stuff some bigger tires under it, I took it out today and decided it was a little top heavy and the higher COG might make this thing a little dangerous in the areas I go.

thats cool its actually got an np205 under it. most had the 208. i belive the 205 is gear and not chain.

the ttb suspension is nice if you want to go fast off road and drive on road alot. for heavy duty off road it doesnt really shine:)

good luck with the build.
