I'm thinking that after I finish up the upgrades and mods; NV3550 trans etc. I'm just finishing up and I drive the Bronco for awhile and get the gearing sorted out, I to want to end up with 33" tires. As far as I can tell, I'll need to do a 3.5" suspension lift to fit that size tire & wheel. The back wheel wells have already been cut, so there isn't much I can do about that, but the front fender are not cut. I could cut them, but prefer not to and I have a 2" body lift now so that the NV3550 fits well, but I think I'm going to take that down to a 1" lift. So the questions are what else do I need to plan for and what kind of an end result difference would I see between these two type of kits? My link

or My link

I'm adding the needed extended steering shaft and brake lines now and know I'll need extended drive lines and emergency brake cables, but not sure what else. And I don't know what differences I would see between these two types of kits. Bear in mind that my Bronco will be street driven most of the time with excursions to the sand dunes and some hunting.

At first glance,

One has the 11pks. & progressive coils., the other does not.

Plus, the shock set-up & other do-dads.
Yea, I saw that, I just don't know what difference those things would make for what I'll be using the Bronco for after they're installed.

TOM'S Br. Parts cat. & website explain all that but, it's all 'bout ride on the street & articulation elsewhere. :D/

(5pak. & straight coils are old school) <_<

Personally, I wouldn't use a kit from JBG, I would go with Wild Horses, BC Broncos, Tom's or Duff. The simple answer is that if you have questions, those vendors help you out a lot more than JBG does with questions when you call in. I'm not a real big fan of vendor bashing but....well the other 4 companies are 5-star outfits, put it that way. I know BC has their own springs made up where as almost all of the other vendors use Deaver for their springs. I also wouldn't go with dual shocks anywhere on your rig unless you are desert racing or jumping it. Dual shocks are #1 overkill but #2 they don't let the axle move as easily and freely as a single shock does. They will have either a higher dampening effect or a no dampening effect at all. The best thing you can do is to buy yourself a good set of shocks to begin with. A set of Rancho 9000s, Pro Comp MX6 or a set of Bilstein 5100s. The shock will make a world of difference.

When I first got my rig it had a tired 3.5 lift and a two inch body lift and 38 inch tires, and well cut and 2by4s for bottom rocker panels.I took out the body lift and went 5.5 lift and now thinking 4 would be plenty for me.

I would definitely take an inch outta the body lift, whats that unbolt body and cut blocks in half( or maybe two cuts top and bottom or just buy just the 1 inch blocks and re bolt and then run a 2.5 lift and keep her low with the 33s dont go too wide either I would do a 15by7 or 8 rim with 10.5/ 11.5 wide tires and use a push the tires out offset on the rims, I dont have a problem with spacers others do(your choice) , I dont thing you should rub and the offset rims and narrow tires will keep the tires from rubbing the radius arms. good single shocks is all you need. A 2.5 lift will not need as much mods as a taller lift no driveshafts no drop or riser brackets no drop pitman arm no extended ebrake cables maybe a adjust trackbar too center axle. you dont need too much flex side too side in the sand just droop if you jump too **** up the landing( cause you have the choice too hit everything square). Hunting off the fireroads dont need giant rigs, keep them low hide them in the bushes and trees. Good Luck

Dont be afraid of the 32 in tires either(one guy I wheel with is a pro driving on three wheels)(all his rigs are 32s and low too no lift) and almost always keeps up with me!(but front and rear arb air lockers help him alot)

Thanks BBB, experience is always helpful and you've had plenty. I already got some 1" aluminum blocks and will be changing out the 2" blocks with them. I'll also look into the 2.5" lift; I'm not looking for monster tires or a real high rider; I just want a little more clearance and some bigger meats.

I looked at all the vendors life kits and I just can't tell much difference in them, so I'll keep reading and try to figure out what the difference is.

Thanks again,

Thats what I do before I purchase (read everything I can find on the interweb and all the suppliers) then make a decision. I do like progressive front springs though, but I trailer my rig and only sees 2000 miles a year tops. I am trying to get it so I can drive too the trails. With propane tuning and lots of alignment and moving some weather stripping around(too make it bearable) and loseing lots of weight off the rig. The major problem I have is downhills. I can go up great cause the motor is holding me down. When I go down I am way tippy even with the 75 too 1 gearing I have one foot on the brake and one hovering over the clutch in case the rig wants too go ass over front so I can push the clutch and let the front wheels roll too let the rear down. I am hoping putting the spare way out and low like a bumper and the propane tanks pushed way back that it will hold me down and the rear cinch winch helps a little too compress the rear axle towards the frame thus lowering center of gravity a pinch on a down hill. Damn the 92 inch wheel base(I like 102 plus)(based on other rigs that have come and gone)The darn bronco does not seem too want too leave the garage, so I keep cutting and modifying someday it will wheel good without throwing money at it.

(I am gonna give it a drive, with the new cuts and with stuff moved around and if its bad then move the rear axle back with the buggy springs 6-7 inches back and see if that will help a little too..

Alright too much spurting of unknown value and or incorrect info.

Let me know how the bigger cam runs!!I am trying too sell bronco junk so I can modify more!
