Might want to take a look at the tranny and see if it can handle it, the early e4od had some trouble and thats a significant jump in power especially if its older.

It probably won't be long before you start snapping axles. You will probably need to go to a Dana 60.

Good luck,

either a d60 rear or sterling 10.25. with 475 hp, you are going to be blowing up everything from axles to driveshafts to your tranny. plan on some MAJOR drivtrain upgrades

:)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) Just what I was thinking :)) :)) :)) :))

It is still my openion, that it is a waste of a good performance engine to anchor it down with a 5000 lb. brick :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I just love driving my Bronco and could care less if it gets passed by a Mitsubishi Moskeeto :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> . It's like the difference between a football Center and a track runner 0:) .

street, bogging, baja, whatever. your still gonna give new meaning to the term grenading your drivetrain. if its not going to be your DD, whats the concern with gas? if money's tight, just put the project on hold

I would say that when you upgrade to a performance engine like the one you describe that you need to upgrade the brakes, drive train, transmission, exhaust (you won't get that HP rating without a good dual exhaust), cooling system and tires according to how you use the vehicle. You can drive it 'till something breaks (which WILL happen with that HP), or you can upgrade to try and prevent some things from breaking.
