I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 68 BRONCO, AND I AM CONSIDERING STROKING THE ENGINE. I DON'T HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH WORKING ON TRUCKS, AND THIS WILL BE MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT IT.

THE BRONCO HAS A 302 FROM A 87 THUNDERBIRD. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INSIGHT AS TO WHAT BRAND OF PARTS I SHOULD USE WHEN I STROKE THE ENGINE? I WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE SOME INSIGHT INTO WHAT TYPE OF AUTOMATIC TRANS I SHOULD USE. THE BRONCO WILL BE USED HALF ON AND OFF ROAD. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW A GOOD BRAND OF SUSPENSION LIFT. I'M LOOKIN AT 3 1/2 - 5 1/2 IN OF LIFT.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

to stroke a 302 is kinda expensive your good have over $1000 into it by the time your done and it will probably only be a 347 . Much wiser to rebuild a 351w its the same physical size ( a hair wider ) but the same bolt pattern and will drop right in where that 302 is . By useing ebay you should be able to rebuild a 351W with all new parts for around $800 and youll be 49 cubic inches ahead . Now if you really want to stroke a motor theres a guy on ebay that has a stroker kit for a 351W that makes it a 427 for $1100 I have been seriously looking at doing this big block power in small block package . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> there my 2 cents and some change

Hey bro,

The stroker kit and parts to use is eagle, and get it balanced 1500 for a balanced kit or so. Its a good option to stroke the 302, 2 of my buddies have stroked 302 and love them.

trans, if you can find one get a C-6 get it....the C-4 just doesnt hold up. Plus you can run either the dana 20 or NP 205 xfer cases.

A stroker 351W will make you scream....but I always believe in using what you have. Either motor I would recommend getting a 70's model block....and use the 87 heads, just a better block back then.
