strange clicking noise

I just bought a 90 bronco, and I'm hearing this very loud, rapid clicking noise coming from the left (if you're facing it) side of the engine, seems to be from somewhere near the alternator. It kinda goes along with the rpms of the engine, and it's very fast, several times a second. Anyone have any experience with this or some input on what it might be?

Thats happened to me and it was the Alternator bearings, fix? Replaced Alternator

To test it remove the belt and spin the pulley, if there is a problem it will be very noticeable. Wiggle up and down as well.

picked up an alternator for $20 at the local pick-n-pull today...worked like a charm, thanks yardape!
