I have a 94 Bronco 5.8L and have some vibration after running on 32" tires. I got a suggetsion that a steering stabalizer should help with this. The stabalizer was an option for this model and I don't have one, so I am doing a complete install. I have the kit and am ready to go, but . . .

I haven't found any good illustrations or pictures of placement. I am assuming that I am going to have to drill holes in the box frame. Any suggestions for propper placement? Any other advice before I start drilling into the frame?

Thanks!!

It would be best to mount the steering damper/stabilizer above the drag link rather than below it, to reduce the chance of trail damage. Other than that, just bolt it to the drag link, and mark the mounting holes in the passenger-side frame where it fits without interfereing with anything.

It will not correct a vibration problem, though, only reduce the bump steer when one wheel tries to move suddenly on you. Check the wheels' balance, look for a bent rim, and inspect the steering linkage for any signs of wear or slack. Don't forget the steering shaft, too. Even some mud stuck to the inside of a rim will throw it off balance enough to shudder at certain speeds.
