Starts when it wants to..

I have a 95 5.8L fuel injection

Having trouble with it starting. Currently the check engine light is on and stays on, no flashing. The overdrive is flashing off and the airbag light is flashing code 51.

When it won't start it is cranking but won't turnover.

When the problem began i changed

fuel filter,

plugs and wires

cap and rotor

cleaned injectors

At this time you could get it to turn over with starting fluid, but wont idle.

A Mechanic then had me replace fuel pump and pcm, he could not get it to turn over either. Then I was replacing steering box/gears and went to start it and it turned right over. I checked the clock spring and found it was completely severed. So I repaired the clock spring and took it for a test drive. When I pressed the accelrator it was very sluggish and seemed to shift hard.

Then replaced the coil and it seemed to idle better. I cut off engine and then when I went to crank to test drive it would not start again. I let it rest and then was able to crank it.
