I recently got my bronco running after sitting for 4 years. It has a 429 and started right up about a week ago. I turned it over about 20 times today and when I released the key to the ON position it started. From then on it will not fire in the start position, but everytime I release the key it attempts to fire. It is still turning over strong in the start position. Any ideas?

Can a moderator delete this post, I posted in the wrong forum. It is a 78 bronco.

Wait, I'm confused... Are you saying it will turn over and the engine will spin but the engine will not stay started? If it's trying to start and will run a bit, try the alternator. Since you have nothing about your truck other than it's a Bronco with a 429 that's about as far as I can go. Try to get some more stats like year, tranny, fuel injected or carbed all that good stuff and it makes it easier to help you...
