I'm all out of ideas here. My truck is acting weird. Ok, Like three months ago, it started stalling out everytime i'd take long drives well not that long but like 30-45 mins away and it would stall out. the idle would be unstable and then it would just stall out and sometimes take me a while to start it back up id have to wait for like 5 mins so it would keep running on its own. then it was running fine for like a month with no stalling out. then it started stalling out again. I thought I got bad gas but thats not it. I replaced the plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap and rotor. I'm thinking about replacing the tps sensor but not sure if thats the problem. what i dont understand is why would it go away and the symptoms would come back again? that is so weird to me. but i'm not sure.

OK, do you have a Check engine light? if so, let us know; have it scanned at Auto Zone for free.

I have only seen this on smaller cars but sometime the ignition coil heats up too much and the car stalls out then like you were saying you have to wait for a while for it to cool down and it will start again. Is it hot where you are? Did it cooler for a month. You might check into that. Like I said smaller cars have this problem, i have never heard of it being that on a truck or a Bronc.

same thing happened to my bronco. check the coil and the leads from distributor to the coil. i had intermittent stalls and it would start right up again. and it ran and idled a bit rough. then one day it just stalled in traffic and wouldn't start. i took it to a shop for a computer diagnosis. the coil was fine but, the leads were corroded. i replaced the lead and it was fine, then i went ahead and changed out the coil as well- cause that's just the way i am. if there is corrosion in the leads it would explain why the problem is intermittent. sometime contact is good sometimes not. or maybe possible moisture in the air has an effect on it as well.

anyhow i would check it out.
