Solid, one-piece steering shaft length

I have a 1972 Bronco. I am upgrading to the Delphi/Borgeson Power steering box.

Just removed the old box and took off the top to get the long one piece steering shaft out.

Does anyone have any idea on what the "new" length of the steering shaft should be

for the Borgeson Box and Borgeson U-Joint? Otherwise stated, how much needs to be

cut off the shaft prior to Double Dee-ing it for the U-joint?

Hi Don.., welcome...!

The state of the art shafts today are two-piece. 

The upper shaft ends just below the steering column.

The lower shaft is "telescopic" for ease of installation & safety.

Have you already bought the box & joint...?

If I were you, I'd contact  www.tomsbroncoparts.com

They have everything you need &/or can guide you as to the Borgeson equipment. 

Point being, the angle at the old shaft/box is really to great for a single straight shaft.
