Hi everyone! Please excuse my ignorance because I am completely ignorant about early Broncos. I have been thinking that one of these beauties would be a perfect upgrade for snow plowing. I live in the mountains west of Boulder, CO and have been using a '72 Land Cruiser for over 20 years. I need the short length to maneuver but I've always wanted more power to move the deep heavy snow. It seems that an early Bronco with a V-8 would do the trick. I have been searching the web for raw specs but cannot find any description of the transfer case system. Are there both high and low range for 4WD? Has anyone had any experience using an EB for plowing and are there any pitfalls that I should consider?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Alan., welcome...!!

As I'm sure you know you can plow with anything fr. a lawn tractor to a D9Cat.

I think you have a pretty good set-up as is.

HP comes into play at higher RPMS... torque is prob. more important for plowing.

The Land Cruiser eng. is a spin-off of the older chev. 235 straight 6 & is pretty "torquey". Also the Cruiser has a PTO.

Yes., the Bronco has Hi/Lo T-case. It would work but I don't think you would gain anything by switching.

Bob,

Thanks for your input. There have been times when I wished for a D9Cat! Yes, the Cruiser is strong with excellent torque which makes it a great plowing vehicle. I could get more power and torque by going to a much larger truck but need the small manuevering size of the Cruiser which is why I thought the EB was an option.
