I just found out that my old 1989 Ford Bronco is up for sale the new owner has some fincahal troubles and needs cash. I orginally got rid of it because my wife wanted to move to the city, plus the wiring on it needed work and I was changing jobs. I was also tempted to get a new Bronco when I saw the concept back in 04 which never materialized. Now fate has it up again though I have an emotional response I know it is a big job to take on a project like that it runs because I know that i put some $$$ into it that the new owner is not even aware of. what do you folks think?

Because you posted this question tells me that you want it back and you just want some feedback. If mine came back up for sale again i would. you know what you got in it and if you can swing it, do it!

you may never have the opportunity again if someone else buys it.

I do want it was an 89 where I got the Bronco bug, but the only reason why I found it was because Ihad decided on finding an early Bronco to restore and yet here is my old truck erie, what makes even errier is that I belonged to anow deceed reletive and I had inherited it I am just alittle spooked and happy right now.

I guess it really depends upon how emotionally attached you are to her, AND what your intentions are. You mentioned that you were looking for an Early Bronco to restore. WHY? Do you want to show it?

You also mentioned that doing the wiring on your old truck will be a big job. Well that is nothing compared to restoring an EB.

IMO there is nothing special about an '89. It isn't carbed, therefore has less interest for a show car/truck. And although it is EFI, its transmission and dash don't have the refinments of the later model 92-96 broncos.

Is it a good depenable truck with a solid trans and great for tooling around in the woods? Absolutely! DO you ahve some history with that particular truck? Probably. Does it matter that it was a relative's truck before it was your's? idk.

So as I said, the decision is yours, and depending upon what your intensions are will probably make the difference. Certainly you can buy this one now, and sell it at a later date to pick up an EB.

Good luck in your decision.

I know that Early Bronco fans see things diffrent than those who own big Bronco's they really are diffrent beasts, but as I found out the current owner rewired the vehichle this makes it even more attractive to me. I guess I am still a sucker for the model. I want to use it to do some light 4x4ing but mainly for cruising and this truck has been well taken care of over the years so I think I will check it out tomarrow and see what the deal is all about. I will post what happens.
