I need to ditch the log manifold for something a little more free flowing. I'm doing it mainly for the sound as I don't expect to spin the engine to the level where long tubes will actually be beneficial from a hp perspective. I have heard that shortys will bolt right up......but, I'm looking at the passenger's side and can't quite see how shorty headers will work. I have ZERO interest in dicking around trying to get them installed. If they don't simply bolt up, I'll stick with manifolds.

Do they bolt right up? Which ones to buy??

I've got the factory style shorty headers from an 88 ** on my bronco but its a 302. The pass side required me to grind the ****** a little to clear the frame. The drivers side is wide open but I am running an auto trans. I've heard that manual trans requires a little modification to the clutch linkage, I'm not exactly sure what. I've also been told that new motor mounts help on clearance, also the 351 head sits a little taller than the 302 block, giving better clearance for the ****** that I needed to grind . Hope this helps and good luck.

My 73 has a 302,I just bolted up the JBA ceramic coated headers that WIld Horses sells,squeaky clean no hassle installation,with stage 8,locking bolts.The bolts are a pain in the ass to get on though.They claim they bolt right up to a 351,(the headers)I recomend them highly,but I dont know about those STAGE 8,header bolts?I would try those new Breslin locking header bolts,with recessed heads,but theyre kind of pricey,and I just bought the Stage 8's,But NO clearance issues at all,and maybe Im crazy,you can feel the difference,but then again I just put Dual Hushpower 2 Flowmasters,and carb at the same time.

Good luck;
