95 fullsize, eddie baurer if that makes any difference.

How in the world to i get the shifter **** off of my 4x4 stick? Lookin to put a skull on there or something B)

Welcome to the Zone > . Post some pictures when you get a chance. As far as I know it is either molded on or attached with some great glue :unsure: You will probably have to destroy it to get it off.

In my 96's Workshop Manual, Ford only says this about da BW 1356 Transfer Case Shifter ****;

"Prior to installation, the gearshift lever **** must be at room temperature and may be warmed to 60°C-82°C (140°F-180°F) as an assembly aid..."

I never took it off, but others have said it is pressed on to the splined shaft. And use a hairdryer to soften it for removal, exactly as Ford describes for installation!

thanks, but that sounds like a job and a half, and after that id probably still end up with it on the stick. Ha i ordered a glasspack today, so i wont need anything for awhile B)
