The other week i was headed to my parents house and as soon as I got on the highway my truck started to shake pritty bad. So i pulled over cause i thought it was a wheel lug/drive shaft or something along that lines, but everything checked out fine. So I took off down the higway again and it was fine! So I kept going and i didn't go it for about another 100Km's so i pulled over again and took off and it was fine. That weekend i put on another 300km and no problem, and it wasn't till I started coming home again that it did it again. So I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or if anyone knows whats going on. By the way my truck is a 89 bronc with the 302.

Thanxs Ryan

sounds like "death shake" , check all your strg. componants, incl. ball joints, tie rods, & radius arm bushings. Also check around your strg. box mounts for spider cracks on the frame. :)>-

Well I took it into Ford and they took it out for a test drive and they figured everything was ok, but then a mechanic said that it could be a miss fire so they check the ignition system and they found that two spark plug wires were really close and they figured the spark was jumping. The mechanic said from experiance that this miss fire could of been the problem, but he said he couldn't be 100% sure.

So they told me to drive it and see what happens cause they wouldn't know whats wrong unless it does it for them.

It would be interesting to hear in acouple of months if the problem was really fixed by ignition, since the mechanis wasn't sure. The problem with vibration it can be almost any where. The say women are better at giving a mechanic an idea where a noise is comming from since they seem to have a better way of describing it.

Good luck,

:)>-

tires can get egg shaped and once they catch up to each other it can cause a bad shake. You turn and its gone. get on the freeway and its back. Might try ballancing the tires if the spark didn't fix it.

Well This Weekend I put on another 600 or so km's, and well it ran like a absolute champ. It didn't not do a damn thing, it didn't shake or anything. I would have to say that this is the first time in a long time that I have been this happy with it.

My 89 started doing this and I finally figured it out the lift bracket on the driverside has 3 bolts that hold it on and 2 of them had come loose and was allowing it to move back and forth about 3/16 of an inch you wouldnt think that would make the truck feel like it was going to jump off the road but tightening those two bolts took care of it . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
