i just purchased my first bronco. it's a 1996 eddied bauer edition and i love it so far.

i was wondering if anyone knows where i can purchased either running boards or nerf bar steps for it. my wife is only 5 ft. tall and has trouble getting in so i have to do something quick before she starts hating the truck. i have to get steps soon or i will have to get rid of the wife!

thanks for any info!

btw. i would prefer black powder coated ones since i am an anti-chrome activists.

thanks!

steve

p.s. i would prefer bolt on but if i must drill, i will.

Welcome to the Zone > Sorry to hear about your chrome malidy :p , the attached photo is what i have on my Bronco for the same reason. I purchased them at my local speed shop. For those who don't like polished aluminum, they fade and you can also get them in black, I'm sure (CARR p/n 103992 Aluminum ana p/n 103991 black). They mount very easily on the rocker panels. I mounted them a few inches forward of where the instructions said. That made them in a natural position for my heel to land on the center when pivoting in the seat to get out. In the position suggested by the instructions my heel hit on the front edge.

Good luck,

:)>-

P.S.

They are easily removed for off road purposes.

I got my DEE ZEE nerf bars off of ebay for about $200 I think it may have been less cant remeber. They bolt right under the truck very easy install. If you check Ebay you are sure to find a pair and cheaper than I paid if you want black, cause mine are stainless steel and polished up real nice they look chrome.

Are you planning to wheel your Bronco off road hard? I had a set of Smittybuilt nerf bars under my 1994 Bronco and the first time I set the Bronco on them they bent upward. I took them off and am getting a custom set of rock sliders / steps made right now. I'm supposed to get them installed on March 31st and will take pictures then. I wanted something that I could use as a step, but would also be able to take a beating from under the truck.
