Howdy Y'all! It's been a while since I've been on here, and I've missed everybody. Hope all is well.

Well, it's time to restore the old 1987 full size. I want to do a complete frame-off restoration....right down to a powder-coated chasis. What I want to know is, does somebody have a written out, well thought out process, or algorithm for doing this? Any suggestions would be nice!

Thanks!

Jim

YO & WB Jim!

I have a few resto Project LINKs in my site @ http://www.broncolinks.com/index.php?index=485

Our good buddy, Seabronc has his in there as well as SquattyD who did the frame-off.

For detailed info; look for the various Body component repair and resto Links @ http://www.broncolinks.com/index.php?index=239

Frame Links are under...Frame..lol, etc.

I'd go thru em and pick the most comprehensive Links out, but I have connection issues here. In fact, this is my 2nd attempt @ replying to you. I should type it all out in MS WORD first then copy & paste it here so I don't go thru this COMCAST drill every day.

Will try to pick some out for you soonest.

GL on da project!

Thank you! I'll put that site to good use. I changed pc's a few months back, and forgot to transfer all my links, so I forgot about your site. Thanks again!

Hey, snowman!!! Brother Miesk5 has some good links on his that you will find useful. On my 84 Bronco, I did a "frame-on" restoration, but wish I had completely removed the body and had the frame sandblasted. It was still a good time to work on the frame, since I was swapping the entire drivetrain over to one from an 88 F-350 donor truck. iwould suggest whether you're just restoring the engine bay or the entire rig to take a few pics as you go, and bag & label the hardware with the parts. It's easy to remember how to bolt up this part or that a week from now, but 6 months to a year later may be different. My Dad had just finished building a big shop which had enough room for most of the parts I removed from both the Bronco and F-350. It is not a good idea to store them inside the house, as the wife or GF frowns on that sort of thing. I recently posted some updated pics of the 84 Bronco both on Supermotors, net and in the Featured Ride forum here at BZ. IF you need any tips or advice, I'd be glad to help, JSM84

Here's a link to the frame restore section:

http://www.supermotors.net/registry/1133/30852-4

Pulling the engine and drivetrain and the swap pics are posted in other albums for the 84 Bronco with a few more under the 88 F-350.
