well i am replacing my 2 front fenders along with my hood , tailgate and passenger door. know are my front fenders bolt on projects or are they welded in any way, and the tailgate i need has its window up and in the topper (junk yard) how do i get the window down from inside the tailgate , which wires need power to roll it down. and doors, which years are swappable with an 86 bronco, and hood as well. and for rear defrost are the wires ran already if it didnt have it already am i SOL. give me an honest opinion would it be better to replace my panels and leave them til i can afford a paint job or leave it all the same and keep the other body parts off til i can afford the paint. i need other guys opinions cuz i kinda have a feeling it will look ghetto if i put other colored panels on a black SHINEY bronco. thanks guys.

Yes, they are bolt on. Just did my whole front end this past summer. You need to remove the bumper in order to do it with out being a bigger pain than necessary. The hard one to get to if you don't know it is there is on the back, accessible by opening the door and you will see it just above the lower hinge, a long extension on your ratchet will do it. Adjustment of the new fenders will take a little patience. You will need help handling the hood, 3 bolts each side if you leave the spring support on the hood.

Good luck

Well, like the man said, it's a pretty simple bolt-on deal. I dunno if they're a quirky as the 78/79's which used 1/2" bolts everywhere *except* for the 9/16" bolt on the bottom right behind the tire. The one in back can be removed with a open or box-end wrench easily enuf thru the gap with the door open. You can swap *any* of the 80-96 noses onto your truck but since it doesn't sound like you're swapping the whole nose as a clip I think what you want to use are 80-86 parts because 87' was the first year for the rounded hood & big headlights. Since your truck is black to begin with you might consider just using a black primer on the panels, they sure won't match but it won't stick out quite as much as something like, say, red or yellow panels. Now if you *haven't* already gotten the nose panels you may want to change to one of the newer noses. If you get if from a junkyard you might also consider having them remove it as a clip. It's much easier to replace as a single piece then by doing each fender & the hood seperately. I'm not sure what the hot wire is for the rear window, shouldn't be too hard to probe the existing tailgate window & find hot.

Sorry, I missed some of your questions, in too much of a hurry I guess.

OK answered the fender one

If the motor is good, the red with yellow stripe wire and yellow with red stripe wire attach to the motor, You can jumper the wires, swapping the leads changes the direction of the motor. If the motor is bad, then you need to remove the motor, a bit of a pain, but doable.

Definitely the 80 - 86 doors are swappable, I believe the 87 - 92 doors will also fit, someone want to sanity check me on that?

Do you have a defroster control under the air control console? I'm 99% sure your truck will have the wires and plugs for the defroster in the existing wire harness. If not, you could run them yourself. If you look under the dash you will most likely find a plug the the defroster control hooks to. You may have to take the tailgate harness from a truck with a defroster window. You will be looking for a 10 gauge wire that is Brown with light blue hash marks. That is the lead from the control to the rear window harness. The rear connector is behind the left tail light in 80 - 86. Diagram attached.

I usually spend the Winter collecting the stuff that I need to do a major project, that allows me to buy what I need as I have the money for it. If you are concerned about it looking Ghetto, maybe that is what you should do, gather the parts and buy the primer and paint as you have the cash.

Good luck on your project.

OH yah, if you are going to upgrade the front end, get a 87 - 92 cowling, ( the part the wiper arms stick out of), It is a better design and doesn't let all the tree crap and snow into the cowling area. I thought about that for a couple of years and the "Straw that broke the Camel's back", and moved me along on doing it was a wet granular snow that filled the area around the wiper motor arms and then froze making my wipers useless. I was also tired of Maple seeds flying out of the defrosters, leaves clogging up the duct work, etc.

The frames haven't changed so the bumpers will mount up just the same. As far as billet grills go, I have no clue. I usually just Google that $hit to get a starting point or grab acatalog from someone I've dealt with before. Speaking of catalogs, it's never a bad idea to just spend an afternoon calling 7 or 8 vendors like Jegs or the Graveyard and getting catalogs so you have a place to start from when you're ready to buy.
