This is actually on my 96 F150 but, is there a trick to replacing the ebrake bracket?

Or do you just need some brute force/ leverage to reset the cables?

I noticed mine was cracked at the front cable mount so I had it welded and now I'm ready to put it in. Sprained my wrist in the mean time( unrelated) so my brute force will be considerably reduced.

Thanks for any input.

I don't think the 96 ebrake is any different than mine. I had to replace the mounting bracket that is just behind the driver door on the frame. There was no brute force required. Just make sure the brake is released and loosen the adjuster all the way. The pieces should go right in and then take up most of the slack with the adjuster, not too tight or the ebrake may cause the rear shoes to drag. If you have to replace or install the cables to the rear drums, you will have to remove the rear tire and drum on each side to hook them up.

Good luck,

:)>-
