So I got a 5.0 motor from a donor Bronco two years ago. I want to say it came out of a 85 Bronco or that era.. it was the body style prior to my 87-91.

All I have is the block and pistons. The lower/upper manifolds aer gone (no idea where they ran off to) and I tossed the wire harness.

So my primary question is about the sensors. I don't want to rebuild this and there be a misssing port for some weird sensor. That would be a waste of money because odds are if there is a missing sensor, it'll toy with my ECU. So are there any in the block I should worry about?

I think the route I'm going to go is just use the block I have in the garage, and buy everything else new for it, or pull from a junk yard and have a machine shop clean up. This way I can go at my pace, and still drive the Bronco (camping season is upon us!)

If you are going to rebuild it, have a shop at least balance the crank shaft. You might be better off buying a short block that is already re-manufactured. A re-manufactured engine has it's components brought back to factory tolerances or better.

Good luck,
