hey yall, i just changed the calipers and pads along with the drums, shoes and hardware for the brakes. Now i get a ratcheting noise that increases in speed with the vehicle speed. It comes from the front drivers wheel. I looked at the rotor(front face) and didn't notice anything weird or out of place. Could this be caused by not turning the rotors :(( ???? thanks for the help.

i'd check the backing plate. If you bent it a little bit, it could be rubbing the rotor.

You didnt take anything apart in the front hub? cuz i just recently replaced my front brakes along with rotors, bearings, an races an even replaced my locking hubs to warn premium hubs an now i get a ratching almost clik claking noise an speeds up as i speed up................ tends to go away however when i brake but comes back when i let go and when i drive for a real long time itll just stop.......its not a backing plate that i know, its an internal sound for now im gonna let it go but i have no clue what it is.....keep us up to date if you find out............Gabe

You can pull your hub off and drive around and see if the sound changes. Look at the brake squeel tabs to make sure they are not touching the rotor. Could also be a failed wheel bearing or spindle bearing.
