I've heard of people using hockey pucks for body lifts. Personally, I dont think it is very safe, but what if I where to use hockey pucks for radius arm bushings? Just drill a hole in the middle of them and stick 'em on! Does anyone think this would hold up?

They might but I wouldn't plan on them lasting very long. I've used pucks for a few industrial-type projects in the past and they generally hold up pretty well under compression type loads but when you go & drill a big honkin' hole thru the middle & start introducing torsional stress they start to rip, and once *that* process starts there's no stopping it. They might last (or at least last longer) if you fab a couple of good 0.25" washers for each side (flat steel, not the cupped ones that Ford used) and make sure it's compressed well (but not TOO well) then sure it might work. Hey, at $2 apiece you don't have a lot to lose just keep a close eye on them so you don't blow one out 75mi from home. To be honest with you I think you're going to ultimately pony-up for a set of poly bushings but it's worth doing just to satisfy your curiousity (and ours as well). Give it a shot & let us know

I know this is an old post, but just in case if anyone reads this topic for help they should not use hocky pucks for radius arm bushings. Instead of flexing they will crack or break the radius arm brackets. Grow some balls and spend the money for ploy bushings.

Apples & oranges Chief. Replacing the body mounts with hockey pucks is *one* thing. They really don't recieve any torsional stress. Used as radius arm bushings is a whole different story since the stress that's applied to them is entirely different from what they see as body mounts. Experience using them in one application does not translate to the other. And I'm not going to even *mention* the fact that those Brand-X trucks don't even HAVE radius arms (since they took the easy way out & used leafs)
