well i finally got a c6 into my bronco and before i start driving it around i wanna just double check.. with a c6 tranny, the (4Low) is all the way forward then (N) is one click back then 2high is one click towards the seats and then all the way towards the seats is then 4 high? I was also wondering if someone could go step by step how to switch to 4LOW and back out with manual locking hubs.. like what gear ..is it neutral or park when do i lock the hubs and all that I just wanna be doubLE sure before i start driving this

so it should go like this..

4LOW

|

Neutral

|

2HIGH

|

4HIGH

and the procedure to lock and unlock the manual hubs?

thanks in advance

Manual Hubs are easy...you lock 'em up when you need them. Here's how it usually works.

1) You're driving off-road and you come to a part where it looks like you need 4x4

2) Murphy's Law states you're in a puddle of mud

3) You hop out in the mud and lock the hubs

4) You get back in while you're in park and jam it into 4 Low and you're out of the mud

5) Pro: you're out of the mud Con: you're feet are muddy

ps -- I usually lock my hubs if I think I'm going to need them e.g. snowy day, I'm going off-road, end of the world, etc.

it would help if you put your bronco spec in your signature so we can see what year we are talking about. I know for both my 81 and 89 T cases to goes like this

Dash

2H

l

4H

l

N

l

4L

seat

unless you have some different setup

thats what both of mine are.

the manual hubs go like this.

you goto drivers side and turn the dial to LOCK then passenger side or vice versa.

once your hubs are locked you just move the lever for the T case to switch from 2H to 4H, it doesn't matter how fast you are going or what gear as long as all of your wheels are moving at the same speed. ie on a road or just crawling you can take it in and out of 4H when ever you want. . if you are stuck and one or two wheels are spinning then lock the tires with the brakes before putting it into 4H

to get into 4L on an automatic when stopped you need to put your Transmission Shifter into Neutral, then you can move your T case shifter to 4L. you might have to pull your t case shifter a little to the left before getting it to move back to 4L. that is a safety stop to keep you from putting it in 4L by accident or when moving.

or another option is to find and read your owners manual, it has all the info relevant to your vehicle year and drive line setup
