question Straight axel

i was wounder why a straight axel is so good i have seen both preform and they look the same to me what r the reasons a straight axel is so good ,is it because my front end has more u-joints and is easier to break ... really want to know the deal... cause if they are good then that will be my next project i see they have more flex help me fellas

I have gathered that the ttb is bad because of easily broken u joints, and the alignment is tough, especially when lifted and wheeled hard. A solid axle will be more durable, better than cvs because no boots to tear, but u joints are better than CVs because they done have boots to tear either.

yeah i have found out the hard way about the alignment espically with big tire some places wont even look at your truck if it has bigger than 31 inch tires on it... had to take it 50 miles away just to get it aligment....

thats what i thought , do you guys think it is worth it and how much would it run me , if i did it myself as to got someone to do it?

and is the straight better on rockcrawling and mudd bogging?

Justbust1n,if you have some mechanical skill you can do it yourself.Yes it will be alot cheaper also.

the only real thing i would have to do is get a trac bar and fabricate a place to mount it change the springs and shockscause none of my life stuff will work , some radius arm drop brackets cause i know the ones on a old front end wont mount up to the stock ones i have for the lift now... just some thoughts
