Ask me about my job
I think my cat is going and I don't want to drop the cash to replace it, if I put a straight pipe in its place would that be alright? I'm thinking of running straight pipe up to a flowmaster.

Thats how my bronco stays on the road. :-& #036;Hey it's only illegal if you get caught right? :-"
You definetly need the cat if you are going to the emmissions test, they will fail it even before they put the probe in the tailpipe(in our neck of the woods).They always ckeck with a mirror first for a cat .If your within the inspection period your fine for now.I put a 71 Chevy350(I know bad word)in a 85 Cutlass that originally had a v-6 and got away with headers an straight pipes for four years.As long as you get a CAT on there before inspection your good to go.The cops around here never ckeck for a cat,they stopped us twice with the Cutlass loud and all and never said anything.Thats how my bronco stays on the road. :-& #036;
okay, I understand you don't want to pay the cashola but lets be realistic here. When it comes to Connecticut they are real ball breakers during emmisions and inspections.The cats could run you some money,but go and get a universal instead of a direct fit they may not have the flanges but you can mate them up with some $1.99 couplings. Alot of people say don't worry about in the long run.Just run it straight or who the heck needs a cat anyways but I say it will cost you more in the long run if you get cought by a spot inspection. So lets be real they aren't going to pay for the ticket. And hollowing them out can make a perfectly tune vehicle fail with higher readings. It happened to me in my torino.I think my cat is going and I don't want to drop the cash to replace it, if I put a straight pipe in its place would that be alright? I'm thinking of running straight pipe up to a flowmaster.
