I am taking out my 351W from my 84 bronco to put something else, not sure yet. All i have to do yet is to unbolt it from the torque converter, but my problem is i can't get the crank to turn, it looks like the pistons are froze with rust. I have been tryin to use the crank bolt but it screws off on me. What should i do??

my best advice to u is to put some trans fluid in the cylinders and let it sit for a couple days then try to break everything loose.....get abig breaker bar and try it.....or if not then just take the whole front clip off and pull the motor and trans as 1 peice....be sure to take the transfer case off and drop the crossmember.....good luck with it

Hello the motor will come off the tranny without unbolting the torque convertor . It will pull right out its just not the prefered method because it will usually mess up the front pump seal in the tranny which is no big deal to replace and it sounds like your redoing the whole thing anyway so it wont be any problem . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I would spray some WD-40 or PB Blaster into the cylinders and let it sit for a few hours or even a day then try it again.

I have heard of people using Coca-Cola to break everything lose as well.

Good Luck

Blade262us has got it I have done it that way many times on engines that have had broken rods and such where you couldn't turn the motor. My 2 cents

Hey quick questoin, I have a C6 in there right now will a 390 bolt right up to that or would it be better to go with a NP435 tranny??

Your C6 has a small block bolt pattern: it won't bolt up to the FE.
