The ford ones have to piggyback into the computer unless its really new 03 or newer I think . I wouldnt recomend one theres other things you can spend your money on that will make a bigger difference . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ( K+N and an MSD 6A box )

I agree with the other two posts. You may be able to get a chip for the 92-96 Bronco that will plug into your ECM. Look for Hypertech, Superchips or Jet for those, usually about $100.

An easy way to tell is if your ECM/computer is behind the glovebox and there is no diagnostic port under the dash, a programmer is not available.

Unless anyone had seen this on a bronco before I would shy away from the chip. Had a buddie with a big block in his 97 250. Had two companies send two chips and neithier had an effect on the way it ran.

I think all that a chip does is basically change the engine's timing to increase horsepower. Some may affect or enhance the tranny shifts. I have a Superchips Max Micro Tuner (programmer) for my 98 CHVY, and it helped alot with the power. There is also much less lag from first to second gear.

"C" stands for work truck, even though it's ALWAYS in the shop. I can't work on the computer-controlled stuff on that 98, and it leaks all of the time.

"Bronco" stands for fun and recreation. It hasn't been in a shop in 3 years. And while I can work on it, I haven't had to repair anything other than a starter solenoid or two. Advancing the timing on the 351W added some horsepower, too.
