Alright,
Some of the Late model owners may know what a pain it is to put the snap ring
on the end of your axle shaft after doing the manual hub conversion on the passenger side of the Bronco.
I believe that I may have found the problem on mine and maybe others.
Between the spindle and the axle shaft there is a soft rubber dust boot and a hard plastic disc for the spindle/axle bearings. Well when I was cleaning up my axle shaft I found out that for some reason I had two discs on the right side. One of them was stuck on the soft rubber boot because of the grease and the other was on the spindle. The disc is about 1/8th thick, which is
about the distance keeping me from installing the snap ring on the end of my axle.
So just a heads up for everyone that plans on doing their wheel bearings or removing their axle shafts in the near future on a late model Bronco. This is something to check. Every time I have removed the spindle I have put everything back together the way it came out, and the extra disc always falls off the spindle. I always put some grease on it and put it back in. Not this time.
My digi cam sucks but I will try to get some pictures up of it.
The markings on the disc are
FORSHEDA TRS-007 and 45651
