I was wondering if anyone on here has ever port and polished their own heads? I am thinking about doing it to mine and was wondering if anyone has any tips on how the best way to do it.

unless you are set up for machining i would leave the flow to the pros.

It doesnt hurt to open the ports up yourself . Take the gasket your going to use intake or exhaust bolt it to the head take marking compound and mark out the hole the hole in the gasket will be much larger than the hole in the head . Once you have it marked take a die grinder and just carefully start cutting the port out to the mark you made . On the newer heads you will break into the airtube passage on the exhaust side but its no big deal . I have done alot of my own and you will notice a difference . Especially on the exhaust look at the size of the port before and after you will see a big difference . As for leaving it to the pros how do you think they got to be pros ? :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks for the help so far. I think that I might start on it next week. I will try to take some before and after pics to post and show the difference.
