I like to use this dude's gallery as an example of how a paint job can look under different light, angles, etc. Wild cherry flames on a black background, amazing paint job Andy!!!
Like Seabronc stated, a picture or computer image is not the real deal. It can give you a general idea of what to do more research on at the paint/body shop.
I decided on blue ,like the original lighter color on my 2-toned Bronco. The exterior paint was badly faded, but was like-new under the interior trim. Shiny, good-looking, etc. After the new paint job, the color was way different than the original. More metal flake for one thing, and changed hues in direct sunlight.
Once you pick an exotic color like the wild cherry or a metallic, try to see it on an actual vehicle and find out as much as you can about the prep, number of coats of paint and clear, etc.
