Hey guys, thanks for all your help on the fuel pump issue. Turned out the pump was the problem and its been replaced. My dad has another question though. The starter on the truck(1995 Bronco 5.8L) is still original, making it about 12 years old. He's wondering if he should get a new starter while its already at the repairshop. He asked me, but I know nothing about starters, so I'm asking you guys. Should he get a new starter even if the old one is still working?

That little gear reduction ford unit on those years last a long time my 95 F150 still has the original and still going strong . If it were mine Id say no dont replace it unless it has been giving you troubles :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Looks like four votes for save your money. Your autolocking hubs will probably fail before that starter does; save your $100 for when that happens. B)

I agree w/da guys....maybe have all starter, batty, Grounds (batty, b to eng, eng to frame, etc.), etc. ck'ed for corrosion. & often, due to salt and genl ***** the cable(s) wire strands get corroded in first inch/few inches under connectors and under wire/cable insulation at above connections.
