blows smoke that smells like gas, ticks and rattles and shakes. wierd exhaust noises, oil coming from exhaust manifold on one side

Reading the codes won't fix anything either, but you did THAT. Geez - is the concept of a PROCESS that foreign to you? You have to be able to SEE what's happening before you can KNOW what to fix.

its got to be internal such as a valve or a ring. its burning something and its smells like gas so must be. oil is coming from the exhaust so maybe its coming from the rings.
