67 bronco think it's a 289 or could be 302 have the same filter that was on it when i got it and had no problems, now that it has sit for some months and i have started it up it leaks from around the oil filter, need to look at the filter again to make sure it's ok but if it's not the filter or the o-ring then what next?

The only thing realy that can leak would be the o ring on the filter. Just throw another filter on, be sure to fill it first and rub the o ring down with new oil.

I cant answer that without seeing your engine but grab ahold of the sending unit and see if it turns or if it moves at all. As long as nothing came in contact with it I really dont see it leaking. I would remove the old filter, inspect the seal and if it looks okay then turn your attention to the oil pressure sending unit. Another thing you could do is try and clean the area up a bit and fire up the engine. Have a look around, see if you can see a leak.

Another thougt is that it might have 2 "O" rings on there. The old one didn't get pulled off the block. Common thing, and it isn't a big deal.
