OEM coolant overflow tank

Here's a simple question: I just bought a OEM style overflow tank, what size hose do I need to run from the radiator to the tank?

Take the new tank to the auto parts store and size it up.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

Does the hose fit over the split ****** on the tank, or inside it so that it can **** the coolant off the bottom and back into the radiator when it cools down?
