How you doin Bronc Bros. ? 95' xlt 5.0 302. Problem is No tailights at all when driving, according to the state trooper that stopped me. No ticket given :D/ . I have head lights, front and rear turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, backup lights. I checked and replaced fuses and opened rear lenses. One bulb on top and one bulb on the bottom inside each rear lens. The bulb on the bottom of each lens wasn't working so I replaced them, and they still dont work. Any in depth electrical troubleshooters out there? I have a volt/ohm meter and plenty of want to but don't know were to start. I like my money where it's at, in my pocket and not going to tickets $-) ! Thanks Bros.

The tail light uses a dual filament bulb, (the same bulb as the signal light). There is a wire for each function but they share the ground connection, (the one for the Tail light is brown). The same circuit also powers the license plate light. A likely candidate is the connection at the rear cross member just under the bumper, could be a broken wire or corroded pin in that connector, (both tail lights pass through that connector before the circuit splits from side to side).

Good luck,

:)>-

OOOPS, the connector that is common to both lights on your year truck is just under the brake booster. Teach me to pull that off the top of my head.

Thanks Seabronc. I will be checking the brown wire for good ground connections. However, where is the "brake booster" located ?

Thats attached behind your master cylinder. If you look under your master cylinder, you will see a crap load of wires, happy hunting. The '95s still have that connection on the drivers side behind the rear bumper, kinda under the drivers side taillight. Am I wrong Seabronc? I stripped a 95 pickup and put the tailight wiring harness in my 89 pickup. It is in there now and works like normal, had the same connections and everything.
