Is the distributor even spinning? Have seen the roll pin in the gear shear off......

no the gear on the distributor is still on and it does turn when spinning the engine over.

I have been having symptom 3 all along. and I have gone through all of the tests for every component step by step. none of them have shown any faults. I have checked the continuity of every wire. it has all cleared. the only part that is original is the eec.

and im not getting any codes

step 75 says. "Inspect the base casting for cracks and wear. If any damage is evident, replace the distributor assembly."

I took a distributor and stator assembly out of a truck at the scrap yard that was running when it got there. no change.

Just by chance, have you checked to see if you have any broken wires in starting circuit?

no ther were no broken wires. I had the whole wiring harness from the computer to the engine checked, Turns out that the computer was starting to go, and it in turn was making alot of other systems not function properly.

its got a different computer in it now, it sparks, and even starts like new again.

before when it had spark it was very picky about when it wanted to start and run.

I'm waiting for it to come back from the safety, all it needs now is a muffler and a tailpipe

wow, last thAng to suspect or have to replace !

I just found this TFI Troubleshooting Article after months of searching for it in my back-up files; http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_libra...Diagnostic.html

Almost all applies to Big Broncos & any TFI Ford.

I need to confirm all TS Steps & ensure they apply to our Biggies' 5.0 & 5.8 as well as da 4.9 torquer.

They use the Grey TFI Module in their testing (at bottom). Have to log off due to severe T Storms and power outages now.
