Ok guys. So last summer I suddenly lost reverse lights and turn signals. Checked fuse it was blown so replaced that. All was well. Next day noticed I lost them again. Replaced fuse again. Lost them randomly another time or 2 and kept blowing fuses. I checked wiring into fuse box, all bulbs, checked for bare wires in ass end and along frame. Nothing. One day it just stopped blowing fuses but I haven't had reverse lights since. Few months later lost tai lights, markers and dash lights. Replaced headlight switch and took care of all that but still no reverse lights. I'm thinking its in the column and may have something to do with the multifunction switch or hazard light switch. Also if hazards are flashing and I press brakes hazards stop working. Any suggestions?

Hey man thanks a lot for the diagrams. But, I forgot to mention I'm working on an 82. My bad. But, I'm thinking about just running my reverse lights off a toggle switch. I'm gonna change the directional flashers tomorrow and if that doesnt do it I will probably go to the toggle. It all started after sleeping in the front seat camping one night. My fuse box is open and exposed so I was thinking if i kicked that directional flasher in my sleep maybe it was shorting out which was causing the fuse to go and then something may have gave way so that i lost reverse lights all together but it wasnt shorting out anymore so it stopped blowing fuses??? Idk. I'm beatin my head off the wall chasin this thing!

The switch is mounted on the left side of the transmission.  It might just need adjustment.

Diagram attached.

Good luck,

:)>-

I was just starting from cheapest to most expensive fix. I had visually inspected the switch before and also checked for proper adjustment. Neither were the issue. So today after checking a few other things I decided to expose small sections in the 2 wires running into the neutral safety switch (back up switch) and run a jumper wire across the 2 to bypass the switch. Just as i suspected the lights lit up. So as an alternative to spending $70 on a new switch to replace the old one I just cut the wires running to the switch and wired them to  a toggle inside the cab to bypass the switch all together. Only cost me around $15.00. Hopefully this helps someone in the future. Thanks for the input gents.
