I have a 96 Bronco with a 351 engine.

Sometimes my Bronco's spark plugs doesn't get any fire, and won't start. I have changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap and button, new ignition coil and a new ignition module. The battery has a good ground and is fine.

When my Bronco starts it runs fine until it sits idle, then sometimes it cuts off and won't start again. It happens at random times.

Oh Yeah! It cranks but won't start.

Please help! ! I don't know what else to check.

Does your check engine light come on?

IF so, you should check for diagnostic codes.

There is a thread here on how to do that yourself without specialized tools, or Autozone and some other parts stores will check for codes for you for free.

That'll be a good place to start.

My check engine light is on. I had it checked and it sad my EGR valve sensor is bad. That was the only diagnostic code.

So what did you do with the EGR information? Did you change the sensor? You may wonder what that has to do with it, but you have a computer controlled engine and bad sensors make them puke :-& all over them selves. Fix the obvious first then move on after that if it still has a problem.

Good luck,

:)>-

I change the EGR Sensor and the check engine light went off. Also, when it doesn't want to start power doesn't reach the coil.

That's an interesting observation, and if I understand it correctly is KEY to finding the solution!

IF you mean that you are not getting 12 v to the BAT terminal on the coil.

According to my Haynes manual - Power goes from the battery to the ignition key switch and then to the BAT terminal on the coil.

When the key switch is in the START position 12v goes directly to the BAT terminal on the coil, when it is in the RUN position, 12v goes through a ballast resistor first, and then to the coil.

Good luck, please let us know how you make out.

So I did some trouble shooting. I checked ignition module and it was bad too. So basically I replace my old ignition module with one that's in worst condition. Hopefully, this fixed the problem. I will let you guys know.
