Hi,

I am new to Broncozone and I like format and the information on the site. Todoay I figured out how to upload the pictures.

I live in South Eastern Florida, about 60 miles North of Miami.

This is my 1994 Bronco, Eddie Bauer with 150,000 miles on it. Just last week installed a new radiator and today I fixed the fuel pump. With a rubber hammer. lol

I bought this off a guy for less than $1,000 with 143,000 miles. I spent a month cleaning and fixing things. This what it looks like today.

The Doitnowkid.

Welcome to BroncoZone! > That is a very clean looking truck. Interior shots could be a twin to my '96 XLT. Very rare to find one that still has that rear cargo cover, most of us just have the groove in the sides but no cover. Looks like you got yourself a sweet deal. I would give $1000 for one that nice without the engine. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hi Roadkill,

Thanks for the compliment! You seem to know a lot about these trucks. I have a overhead fixture in the Bronco, which supposed to show the time and temp and compass direction. The thing never worked since I got the truck. Sometimes when I start the engine it flickers on but it doesn't stay on. Someone told me I have to get a new modul for it. I went to Ford, but they told me they don't have that part anymore. Any ideas where I could get one? One other thing. I saw on your truck you have a K&N FIPK

how did you put that on there and what did you do with the original air intake that has the air filter in it and end up on top of the radiator??

Thanks!

I don't really know anything about the overhead consoles. (never owned one) But if it comes on monentarily and flickers back out, sounds like it could be a loose wire somewhere, I'd check for that first. To get a part that Ford no longer makes, you'll have to find an aftermarket supplier or get one from a junkyard. Again I've never owned one of those consoles so I don't know who (if anyone) would make the "module" you refer to. I do remember reading somewhere where someone had gutted the console and rebuilt it with a different clock and stuff but I can't remember if it was here in Broncozone or somewhere else. Try a few searches for "overhead console" or "Eddie Bauer Console" etc. worded different ways and maybe you can find it. If I come across it myself, I send you a link.

The K&N kit was a very easy 1 hour install. The "kit" consists of a few mounting brackets and the filter. The original air box and filter are removed to make room for the new filter. The instructions that come with the kit are well written and have photos. I didn't take any photos during the installation, but you can click here to see some photos of how the parts look when installed.

Edit:

Forgot to mention that the K&N kit requires you to drill two holes (easy to reach locations) for the mounting brackets.

Thanks Roadkill!

I don't thinkk it's a lose wire because when the console lights up it doesn't make sense. That's why I think it's the module.

Yes, I saw your post on that, but only after I wrote the note.

Thanks again.

I still have not had any luck finding the info from that guy who rebuilt his console. I know I didn't dream it, though. I will probably come across it again when I'm looking for something completely unrelated. If I do, I'll post it.

Still haven't found the one I was looking for, but I found this information. The first guy talks about replacing an electronic component and the second guy says he canibalized the parts needed out of a Ford Explorer.

You really know your way around. I think I will look around an old explorer with OHC.

The other thing to explore is the capacitor.
