new stereo installation

:unsure: Ok here is my problem.....I took the old stock radio out of my 1987 full size and when I put a new stereo in it did not work it only powered up and then shut right down then I put the old one back in and I have the same problem in that it will only show the lights in the knobs and it will not even power up......also I do not get any speaer noise. I checked all the fuses for the stereo wiring in the truck and they are all good.........HELP!!!!!!!

Make sure you have a good ground. Make one yourself, that way you know its good. Find a bolt or a decent ***** under the dash that goes into something metal, even structural would be good. Make sure your antenna is hooked up, most wont work without it.
