new PCM for an 86

is there a way of getting a new one in my 86? i would like to chip it or program it for sum extra horse power and fuel economy

Not too sure that your going to improve both very much without a whole lot of money invested. Horsepower can be improved significantly for around 500 and gas mileage can be inproved for around 1500.

Horsepower- cam and ignition upgrades

Gas mileage- Pop the top of it go to craigslist and buy a festiva. Take festive and throw it in back and when you run out of gas pull over unload festiva and finish errands.

Other than that I know nothing that helps with gas mileage sorry.

Sorry I guess I didnt answer your question but yes you could but it would involve a very intense change and addition of ever sensor and accessory related to that PCM.

On the other hand there are ways to tune a eec might wanna look into that before deciding anything.

EEC is your computer you should have a eec-1v if it is EFI engine.

dumb it down for me. whats that n what does it do? i also have a mac now windows but i can get windows for this comp

Its a eec programmer. you can custom tune your eec from inside your truck. Can be used with a superchip also. basically you can adjust when and where the power is put.
