I dont think your combo is sound. I think you are a bit on the theory side of things. If I were you I would save the money on the custom intake (he is correct) and machine work on the heads. Step up to a set of GT 40 aluminums and put a huffer on that bad boy. If you have the largest cam you can find, a stock engine with those heads would not be very drivable. It seems to me that you would have a VERY small power curve. If you went with like a 492 bumpstick I think you would be safe. Be sure there is not a lot of valve overlap and put a set of 1.7 rockers on it. I THINK that would clear the pistons but you may have to go a bit smaller with the cam. In the event that the 492 worked you would have good power off of idle and would have a happy engine up into the 5000 range. Holly makes a blower for the carb guys and you can get a powerdyne for the EFI. Both setups by themselvs are under 3 grand so it seems a tad better then your idea.
