Hi guys,

I get a heavy vibration between 55mph and 65mph at constant rpm. Its seems to be coming from the front drive shaft or front axle area. Its not present below or above these speeds just that 55 to 65mph zone.

I have a 4" lift with a set of 33's on and have never had the problem until this week.

Any ideas what the money pit is going to need next ? $-)

I would recommend checking the u-joints (double cardan/ c.v.) at the rear t/case output. Sounds like it may have gone bad.

If the vibration is present at constant speed and goes away when you let off the gas or are on the gas its a u-joint. When the drivelines are off check all four yokes for torque, one could be loose causing the pinion to vibrate. You must have all time 4 wheel? Look into some manual hubs to take wear off the front end. It could be the rear sending the vibration forward. Best thing is to replace all u-joints anyway. It all standard maintance when you have a lift. Don't forget about the axle u-joints while you're at it!

Wheel might have tossed a weight.

The drivelines can loosing a weight too but thats doubtful.

I snapped the CV joint before christmas so I replaced everything, all u-joints for front and back driveshafts, the CV and rear driveshaft so I'm pretty sure the problem not with them. I also checked for missing wheel weights and tyre pressure and the weights are still on the front driveshaft.

I do have manual hubs but there the crappy 87 model hubs

This is exactly what happens, but all the u-joints are brand new (nearly) I'm going to check the four yokes for torque and see if that helps.

Thanks for the help guys.
