I plan on running duals on my 77. I already bought my mufflers which are center in and center out. Will I have any problems with the center/center setup or should I return them for offset/center. If anyone is running a dual setup with cats could you please send me a picture of how/where you mounted your cats.. THanks guys

I don't run cats (don't have to up here in Alberta) but I do have both styles of muffler on my trucks with no clearance issues on any of them.

As for cats you should be able to find the small bottle style (similar in size to a blue bottle), they should help out wth any clearance issues you may be having.

You might also try to find out what the regulations are for where you are living. Some states dont require emissions on "collector" vehicles. Like here in Colorado where I live, if you have collector tags on a vehicle, once you get the original emissions for the collector tags you dont have to have emissions on the vehicle again as long as you own it and keep the plates current. I have a 72 and have not had to emissions the thing since '97. Here, any vehicle over 25 years old is qualified to get the collector tags, but if I decide to sell the thing then whomever buys it will have to emissions it.

Look into that. If you can get collector tags that you just have to renew and dont have to emissions, then I would get an emissions sticker with the exhaust you have now and then once it passes, go redo the whole shootin' match to what you want with out the cats.

I did the same and purchased the collector plates. Its nice never to do buy tabs again.

The only problem Ive heard of its suposed to be a collector vehicle meaning "only driven 1-2 times a month or a certain milage per month". Cops can hassle you if they see you driving everyday. But of course that would be bad luck. Its worth the risk in my book.
