If those are the only two listings, then you will have to find out if you have a roller cam or not. If I remember correctly the 5.8 ** are roller and just plain 5.8's are not. Do you know if yours is a ** or not?

Oh yeah is there a listing that does not say magnetic crank trigger? That part is a little scary. But it does say it works with factory fuel injection so maybe thats not an issue

The ** has a roller cam and it its the same as its little brother the 5.0 the distributor shaft is longer at the bottom and I believe they did this so you couldnt drop that dizzy into an older block and wreck the cam with an incompatible gear . Take a pic and post it I know what the regular ones look like . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

If its an ** it will say 5.8 ** on the top of the upper intake plenum, If not obviously it will just say 5.8 if its all stock that is. You can't miss it, if its there you'll see it no problem

Then its safe to say theres a real good chance its a non-roller engine.

Go for the MSD-8453

Cant exactly say all that either 95/96 was the last year of the 5.8 they probably didnt care which block went to what intake at that time just use up whats in inventory just like they did with the 74 351 clevelands , lots of 4 bolt main blocks went out as 2 barrel motors It would be safest to know for sure and another way to tell seeing you have the intake off is too look at the space between the heads if theres a wierd looking tin plate that has arms going up to each lifter to hold the alignment bars then its a roller motor without a doubt if it doesnt have all that then its a standard motor :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
