Rebuilt the card off of a 69 bronco I just bought..I believe its a motorcraft 2100..the bronco will start ok..but will only idle when the choke is closed all the way..even after warm up..

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to correct this?

****., welcome......

What was it doing prior to rebuilding the carb.? (yes, it is a 2100)

i.e. what precipitated the rebuild... was it runn'n better or not at all..?

Did you use a carb. kit.?

Did you put in (or replace) a filter between the pump & carb.? Good chance there's debris in the tanks & lines on these older rigs. Disturbed lines can release debris & wipe out a carb. rebuild.

-----(the more info supplied., the better the help we can offer)--- :D/

You may have to start over....assuming it didn't run the same B/4 rebuild....in that case., it could be a timing or timing chain issue.

The reason I rebuilt the carb because I beleived it needed and new float..when I parked on a slanted surface..the vehicle wouldnt start. So I thought the float was bad...I used a rebuild kit..I put a new filter on as well. Could new float possibly not be in the correct position?

OK..so I set the float again..adjusted the idle...etc..

I might have another issue now...not sure if its related to the carb or not.

Seems like when I shift from 1st to 2nd the motor dies..restarts fine. Any suggestions?

Hay Mo..,

You're being stingy with info. so it's do the basics....... :-B

Get your book out & tune the eng. to specs.

Clean & insp. plugs, wires, Use a timing light, etc.

Once everything is clean & correct., we can try to fig. out the problem., if it still exists.

Choke to run is usually a sign of out of time..... /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Sorry to say you have junk in your trunk, that is the gas tanks, most all ebs have the rust in the tanks, boil them out , get new ones, coat them, these are all answers too the get no fuel, car wont start issue, wont run on an incline issue...Best of luck
