More hp in an xlt 302?

What is the easiest and cheapest way to get mor hp in an 89 XLT whith the 302 EFI-engine?

My idea was headers,3" exhaust and a hiflow-airfilter.

R there any camshafts around that will increse the hp.

Well that would be a good start. after finding a cam that works good with the EFI then you would need a computer chip to get it all, to work together..

I already have a tuning-box from Hypertech installed,it's not a chip as sucj...it's a box that pluggs in to the ecu-box

But i did'nt experienced any signifficant difference whith or whithout this box.

A slighty reduced gas-consumption under normal onroad driving

any1 that have a tip for me for the camshaft?

i think that a regular mustang-shaft will be a litt weak on low rpm,but better at hi rpm.

i want as much torq on low and middle rpm as possible

Ooops sorry, the Sweden thing got past me. Maybe find the camshaft you would be most happy with and try and find it on e-bay. Plenty of e-bayers ship internationally

you could go with high perfomance lifters valves and springs along with a mid torque cam. also while you're in the motor you could put in some after market light weight pistons. THEY'RE CHEEP!!!

P.S. the shorty headers don't do all that much, they sound nice, but as for power it's not all that noticable. though it probably would help with new pistons and a cam shaft.

yeah uh, installing new pistons and valve springs is basically a whole motor teardown, if you want to get more torque, do this, shorty hedders, full exhaust, 3 inch duals for a 302 is too big, run 2 and 1/2 at the most, thas if your running duals, a straight thru muffler ( not chambers) will increase flow, and you can get rid of your cats too, call up summit racing (1800 230 3030) and tell tham what u drive and you want a cam for TORQUE, get a K and N air intake system and some better ignition, such as an MSD coil, for a real torque difference you can get gears, depending what size tire you have will determine what gear to go with, how is your truck set up now, basically no matter what you do, its still gonna be a ****, broncos arent made for speed, but mine has very good torque...
