I've read through some of these posts and it did help one problem, my reverse lights work again. But I'm getting code 67 during the KOEO test and cannot get anything with the running test. One post would suggest that that is a hard code and will not allow for running test to occur. My problem: I've aligned the MLPS so many times and tested it, that I can do it blind folded. I'm still getting the code. I cannot find wiring diagrams showing where they go after the MLPS to see if I have a break somewhere. Does any body have a detailed diagram, know what pin(s), or know what connector in the engine bay it goes through? Many thanks!!!!

Yo Justin,

I deleted the other post for you.

Simple stuff first;

DTC 67; "..One possibility is that the NSS (or also called the MLPS) was ok.. connector was/is bad/corroded; or AC was left on, or transmission was in gear during the Self Test..."

Neutral Safety switch not reading Neutral position (manual trans) or Park position during the test. Again, this is usually due to the test pre-conditions not being met. It will probably not reset this code once you clear the codes and retest with gear shift in Neutral or Park..

Testing Values, MLPS/TR/NSS 84-96

DTC 67; Manual Lever Position/Transmission Range (MLP/TR) Sensor Pin-Point Test in 92-96; from Ford EVTM; "...Check the resistance of the MLPS: The resistance of the MLPS (pins 30 and 46).." read more

Thanks. I will give it a go tomorrow. The test conditions have been the same every time. Just engine running in park. No loads. Since the new computer and this code popped up I cannot get anything else. Each time I adjusted the mlps, I reset the computer to get the most accurate readout. This truck is trying to get the best of me. Haha

Yo,

YW!

It happens, but remember the Bronco is around 26 years old and stuff happens.

Inspect MLPS connector on harness side.

Try the resistance test.

the only problem I'm measuring is the voltage readings are much higher then what the graph shows it should be. I'm completely lost now. resistance is spot on but volts are not.

Yo,

Pick out the connector you have ino this...

mlpsconnectors.jpg

Power should be battery voltage, so test at both battery terminal and pin 5 on the connector.

Yo,

Thought I had a visitor.

In Manual Lever Position/Transmission Range (MLP/TR) Sensor Pin-Point Test in 92-96; from Ford EVTM; "...Check the resistance of the MLPS: The resistance of the MLPS (pins 30 and 46).." read more

Source: by Ford via ..

"MLP voltage (ignition on) should be within 20% of these specifications."

Is that what you see?

...

If not, Ford states, "Shake, wiggle and bend the component harness.

Lightly tap on the component connector to simulate a road shock.

Is a fault indicated?

Yes ISOLATE fault and SERVICE as necessary.

No,CLEAR Continuous Memory (REFER to Quick Test Appendix, Section 5A ). RERUN Quick Test. If the concern still exists, REFER to appropriate Transmission Group in the Service Manual for possible internal transmission damage. GO to the appropriate Transmission Service Manual Group. CLEAR Continuous Memory (REFER to Quick Test Appendix"

Yo,

Correct 11 is the pass code in KOEO, CM & KOER

But see page 3 Note at top,of page;

"...pierce the wires to pins 30 and 46 for these tests."

Yo,

Any wrong gear starts, TCC hunting, no 4th gear, engine stalling, high or erratic line pressure or a sudden neutral condition?

If none and you wiggled the MLPS Harness, which I know is dangerous to do besides difficult and almost impossible at home, so forget that because you get the pass code, I suspect the new EEC ...

Lastly, does shift cable appear ok?

Shift Cable Adjustment in E4OD @ http://www.supermotors.net/registry/media/434182

by Ford via Stephen

Under no circumstances should the cable be adjusted in any position other than (D) (overdrive) for the E4OD transmission.

Cannot start in first. Must start in second then shift to od. Od light is steady burning and if the old computer was right......my solenoid pack in the trans is gone. Code 99. It slams in to reverse once hot. Stalls some times while going in to gear. And as far as I can tell the shifter is just fine. Very little play, 1/4" or less.

all I have are linkages. No cable for shifter. Only cable is speedo.

I managed to tease the computer and got running codes....... 12, 13, 22, 77

Cranked it up and dropped in to first. Lowered the voltage on mlps which allowed the test to happen. So 77 I did not do for obvious reasons. Lol. Now the other three......well it might be because it was in gear or not. But I ran the KOEO test in first. No 67! Baffled. Eec?

Since the original computer is gone. The parts store ordered a different computer since none of us cross checked it. The thoughts are the computer was meant for another style ford.
