I am a first time bronco owner and would lioke to get some advise on how to prepare my first bronco for the sand dunes. I have purchased a 87 bronco with a 302 and 9inchrearend and dana 44 IFS front end .I was going to use 33 this year just to get me feet wet on the dunes. Family goes every year to silver lake and has fun. I want tgo make this a sort of sleeper so no outragous lifts. Largest tire size would be 35 with a 460 and dana 44 solid axle and chromemolly shafts . I would like some horse power ideas for 302 till I can get 460 around. I would also like any longtravel suspension ideas !!! Thanks

Get a good all terrain tire like the BFG/AT air down to 5 in the back 8 up front and put in a rear locker. You will go more places in 2wd than most trucks in 4wd. Keep the IFS if your just gonna run on the road and dunes with tires 35" or smaller. Get long travel arms and replace all your steering components and bushings. Keep your 302 and just regear your axles.
